Things people need to listen to...Episode 7
AndieButton is proud to present the Second Annual "Bands I Saw at Sasquatch and Loved". As with last year's list, some you will know already, some you won't, but hopefully all you'll love.
I'm going to do this one in two parts, first a list of all the bands that I managed to check out at this year's festival, followed by my top 15 picks for you to check out right-freaking-now!
Grand Archives, Destroyer, Fleet Foxes, Okkervil River, Dengue Fever, Beirut, The National, Ozomatli, The New Pornographers, M.I.A., Modest Mouse, R.E.M., J. Tillman, The Heavenly States, White Rabbits, Rogue Wave, Mates of State, Cold War Kids, Tegan & Sara, The Presidents, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Death Cab for Cutie, The Cure, Say Hi, Pela, The Little Ones, Battles, Jamie Lidell, Ghostland Observatory, Matt Costa, The Hives, Built To Spill, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Flight of the Conchords, The Mars Volta, The Flaming Lips
The Recommendations (not really in any order, but defenitely the best ones I saw this weekend...and sorry if they've been on previous lists, but they need to be mentioned again!):
1. Fleet Foxes (I really think this is one of my favourites bands of the weekend)
2. J. Tillman (Fleet Foxes recently added J. to their line-up, but his solo stuff is simply fantastic as well)
Rock / Alternative / Indie
Indie / Folk Rock / Psychedelic
10. Jamie Lidell (by far one of the most fun and entertaining characters to watch on stage this weekend)
Indie / Alternative / Electro
13. Ghostland Observatory (They were amazing last year, but about 100 times better this year)
Acoustic / Folk Rock / Indie
